About the Area – Parrish FL

Parrish, Florida is a little community in Manatee County, right off the Manatee River. This community is the idea place because it’s a short drive from Bradenton yet still out of the way, having a more rural feel overall. Parrish is also located a short drive from I-75, making both Sarasota and Tampa within easy reach.

Parrish was originally farmland occupied by European-descended settlers only after the American Civil War. The land was found to be great for ranching and even today much of the land is used agriculturally. Parrish became a distribution hub for farmed products in the late 19th century and later became an important railroad stop for the surrounding region. Today Parrish is home to the Florida Railroad Museum which offers train rides on their historical trains!

In modern times Parrish is known as the quiet community on the outskirts of the Sarasota/Bradenton metro area. A short drive down US-301 takes you into downtown Ellenton before it merges into the historic Tamiami Trail. The Tamiami Trail is Florida’s own Route 66; originally built in the 1920s, the route connects many old towns and historic sites between Miami and Tampa. You’ll love living in Parrish because so many destinations are a short trip away! You will be at the center of everything while enjoying a quiet gem nestled in old Florida.

The Community
